Lightning

Lightning

Definition : lightning / phenomenon / occurs during thunderstorm conditions. Steps of the process:

1- separate the charges in the cloud then concentrate the negative charges in the base of the cloud .

2- when like charges repel , push down some of the negative charges away from the surface .

3- form a net of positive charge on the surface .

4- attract opposite charges and cover the distance with the negative charges because they are small and known as electrons .

5- form the first stepped leader or invisible stroke .

6- connect the negative and the positive parts of the stepped leader creating a conductive path from the cloud to the ground .

7- rush down the negative charges and result the visible stroke traveling upwards , even though the charges are moving downward .

How Lightning Is Formed

Lightning is a phenomenon that occurs during thunderstorm conditions. The process of forming lightning includes the following steps. First, the charges are separated in the cloud then the negative charges are concentrated in the base of the cloud. Next , some of the negative charges are pushed down away from the surface when like charges repel. Mean while, a net of positive charge is formed on the surface. After that, opposite charges are attracted, and the distance is covered by negative charges because they are small and also known as electrons, and the first stepped leader or invisible stroke is formed. Then, the negative and the positive parts of the stepped leader are connected creating a conductive path from the cloud to the ground. Finally , because the negative charges are rushed down, the visible stroke is resulted traveling upwards, even though the charges are moving downward .

How OHP Is Worked ( 2 )

How OHP Is Worked

An overhead projector (OHP) is adevice that casts a transparency image to a screen. The process of using an OHP includes the following steps. First, an OHP is placed on a table positioned sevral feet from a screen, and it pluged in to an electrcal socket. Next, a transparency is placed face up on the plate glass surface of the OHP, and the switch is turned on. finally, the height of the OHP is adjusted so that image is centered on the screen, and a focus knob is turned until projecting clear image.
